Niuform started with a union between CMPC - one of the leading forestry players in the region with more than 100 years of history - and Cortelima, experts in developing wood construction solutions. This union aims to revolutionize the world of wood and rethink the world of construction. How? clt (Cross Laminated Timber)
Cross-laminated timber, better known by its acronym CLT, is a structurally engineered panel made of several layers of sawn timber, allowing for large dimensions while offering a sustainable structural building solution for a better future. Additionally, it is ideal for large structures with its great strength and flexibility - so you can forget about steel or concrete.
GLT o GLULAM(GLUED LAMINATED TIMBER)
Laminated beams, also known as Glulam or GLT, are structurally engineered wood products manufactured using layers of dimensional lumber bonded together. One of the significant advantages of GLT is that it can be manufactured in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and configurations for use in various structures, achieving solid, compact, and highly structurally stable construction.

TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Construction is one of the world's most polluting industries, producing a large amount of solid waste per year; in Chile, it represents 34% of annual solid waste pollution. The construction sector is also responsible for 39% of global CO2 emissions. Mass Timber stands as an effective solution for combating climate change because it minimizes waste and can "sequester carbon." Wood comes from trees, and trees feed on CO2 as they grow; therefore, timber will never have the same amount of "sequestered" carbon despite all the energy used in the extraction and manufacturing process.

The CMPC building in Los Ángeles was primarily built with CLT and GLT-based solutions and features FSC® and LEED® certification, making it a landmark in sustainable architecture.
